Nuola played "Mary Had A Little Lamb" at our "Thanksgiving Tea Party" a few years ago. It is a joy to hear her Piano Journey progress!
We intend to perform this recital as soon as we can, but in the meantime, I want to share how the students sounded a month ago after just three rehearsals. I am super excited about how they will sound when they finally get a chance to perform this recital on stage.
Nineteen Etudes Music students joined 70 other students from around the county to perform in 4 recitals at the Annapolis Mall Movie Theater. I am so proud of every one of our students who took part. They sounded great!
Special shout out to Gavin, Major and their families who came out to support their fellow students and to get an idea of what the event is like. I am expecting you both to be performing with us next year!
Each year, I encourage the more advanced students to try to learn up to 10 pieces by memory. I was delighted to hear Branwen play several of her pieces by memory at her lesson this week.
She didn’t even know I was going to ask her to play them - she just had them memorized anyway! You go, Branwen! You are definitely the “Student of the Month!”
This year, we are using Piano Maestro lots, lots, lots for Level 1 and 2 students. Some parents have been asking if they need to connect the iPad to the piano with cables like I do in the classes. You do not need to do this. Just put the iPad on the music stand and play away. The iPad will pick up what is being played. See Asher playing “Yellow Bird” below, wearing her Santa hat for some bizarre reason, but with no cables :)
It seems that Summer Piano just began, so I can hardly believe that 5 weeks have passed already! Last weekend marked the end of the Praise Piano Camp and Blast Off Piano Camp #3.
Nearly all of the students were beginners, and it was wonderful to hear their progress after just 5 lessons. Great job, girls. Look forward to seeing you all in the Fall.
Brielle played the piece that took the Tigers to the finish line!
The Pink Panthers learned 150 pieces of music and won the Team Quest 150 challenge. Hear some of the pieces that took them to victory.
Jamie played "Jazz Reflection" to take the team to the "150th Piece" finish line!
