I was touched by the enthusiasm of the students as I shared the goal of Operation Christmas Child. Many asked if they could bring iPhones and Tablets for these children, but I didn’t think you parents would want to fund that, so we stuck with school supplies, toiletries, socks, dolls, balls and other small toys :)
Special thanks to Joe, who took time to fill out the coloring sheet and the note for the recipient of his shoebox gifts. That was so thoughtful :) We don’t have a student named Joe, so I am assuming he is a sibling of one of our students, and I am delighted that he got involved!
Miss Lisa delivered our boxes to the Operation Christmas Child Processing Center in Odenton, and she also put a track on some of the shoeboxes so we can find out which country those boxes go to.
The students were on a challenge to see which “lesson day” could bring the most items. I am proud to announce that the winner is.... drumroll please.....TUESDAY with a whopping 58 items. Woohoo! Tuesday students will get to spin the “Operation Christmas Child Wheel” this week at their lesson, and claim their prizes.
